  Married To Adventure: Photographs From the Travels of Martin and Osa Johnson
Opening January 29, 2006, Hastings, Nebraska

Aviation Adventures:
The Flying Expeditions of Martin and Osa Johnson
Opening February 2006, Liberal, Kansas

The Mid-America Air Museum (MAAM) is the destination for the opening of this, the newest traveling exhibition from the Safari Museum!  This show will include expedition photos and artifacts from both the Johnsons' extraordinary 1933-1934 Capetown to Cairo African Flying Safari and their 1935-1936 aerial explorations over the stunning rainforests of North Borneo.  Among the unusual artifacts on display will be the horn tipped Alpine Walking Stick Osa used when climbing Mt. Kenya and the Rhodesian Machete used to clear their gorilla territory campsite.  With over 100 civilian and military aircraft on permanent display, MAAM is the 5th largest air museum in the US and a must-see for any aviaition buff.  This exhibition is lsted to open in February.  To learn more about the Johnsons' amazing aviation accomplishments, please check our African Flying Safari and our Borneo Aerial Expedition photo galleries!

 View selections of Martin and Osa Johnsons’ amazing aerial motion picture stills at the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita .  Also displayed will be some photos and schematics concerning the design of the Johnsons famous Osa’s Ark, a zebra-striped Sikorsky S-38 and Spirit of Africa and Borneo , a giraffe-spotted Sikorsky S-39. 

  Safari Museum Curator Jacquelyn Borgeson will present a program at a reception for the opening of this exhibition from 2-4 on Saturday April 8.
